State-of-the-Art Reports

This call is closed! It is no longer possible to submit STARs.

State-of-the-Art Reports (STARs) covering topics in research, practice, and applications will be included in the conference programme. Potential STARs may be based on recent tutorials or courses given by the authors, but can also be entirely new presentations. A STAR topic can be in an active area of Computer Graphics which lacks a clear, comprehensive overview, especially if no up-todate reference texts are available. The topic can also be in an established field of related sciences which is just starting to have an impact on Computer Graphics. It can also present an overview of practical industrial technology usage in graphics. For examples of suitable STAR topics, please take a look at the proceedings of recent Eurographics conferences EG'03, EG'04, and EG'05.

At Eurographics 2006, STAR authors will be given 90 minutes to present the state-of-the-art of their respective field. The conference registration fee will be waived for one author per accepted STAR, and authors will also be encouraged to submit their papers as regular refereed contributions to Computer Graphics Forum. Proposals for STARs should be submitted by February 15th, 2006 to the STARs-chairs.

Similar to last year's procedure we are expecting a "STARlet" as your submission. A "STARlet" is a short version of your STAR, which outlines the topic you wish to present in some detail, documents its relevance to computer graphics as a whole, cites key publications which will be used for the STAR, and which should be up to 3-4 pages in length.
This document is to be sent as a PDF file via mail to the STARs chairs sometime until the submission deadline. The submission e-mail should also contain some brief biographical information on the authors of the STAR, including the three most relevant publication references in the field of the STAR for each of them.
