Abstract

This thesis presents cleanBibTeX, an application that can detect and correct inconsistencies in BibTEX files. BibTEX is a popular reference management system for LATEX. Unfortunately, when BibTEX files grow with respect to size or come from different sources, they can get inconsistent. For example, titles may have an inconsistent capitalization style, or the bibliography includes abbreviated author names. For a user, it can take a long time to detect such inconsistencies manually. cleanBibTeX allows the user to clean up a bibliography with a few mouseclicks.
