Abstract

The more time is spent in queues lining up for attractions in amusement parks, the less funny the experience and the whole day in the park becomes. This project aims to investigate different factors that influence the waiting time and develop a tool that helps users to efficiently plan their stay in an amusement park. The tool will consist of three different parts. A dynamic map shall help users to get an overview of the current waiting times and the location of respective attractions in the park. A routing algorithm shall be developed to suggest an appropriate route through the park while considering the local optimum for each visitor and the global optimum for the whole park. Finally, a 3D navigation shall be implemented to help users to find their way to the desired attraction easier than by using conventional paper maps.
