Abstract

This picture shows a volume rendering visualization of a CT-Scan of a real world christmas tree. Created by the Vis-Group in cooperation with the general hospital vienna.

	back: Top row, left to right: marching cubes, rendering based on the "Bubble model", and maximum intensity projection. Bottom row: ray casting, surface-based real-time rendering, and ray tracing.
	front: The cover images show a 512x512x999 CT-scan of a Christmas tree displayed with various volume-rendering techniques. Two-level volume rendering: x-ray simulation with surface display. The image border decoration shows a curved-planar reformation (a technique for vessel-investigation) of the tree branches.
