Abstract

This paper gives a survey of tone mapping techniques usid with global illumination models. Linear and non-linear methods are compared, and drawbacks and strengths of all methods are given according to the authors' opinions. The tone mapping is an important step in the rendering process, and this survey can help potentional users to choose the right mapping technique for a particular purpose.
