In this project, we proposed to develop the first systematic evaluation methodology for Augmented Reality (AR) controllers. We proposed to combine new technologies that have not been used for the evaluation of controllers in AR before, to evaluate the performance and functionality of AR controllers, to enhance usability, to develop standard widgets for 3D interfaces and to develop guidelines for the improvement of controllers. In course of the project, we analysed user requirements for AR in the industrial domain, developed gaze-free gesture interaction with AR controllers, and created a widget library for AR controllers providing a standardized set of recommended widgets for developers.
