Open PhD in Visualization

The Visualization Group at TU Wien (Austria) has an open PhD / University Assistant position in Computer Science in the area of Visualization. The successful candidate will be involved in research and teaching activities of our group, and will be able to pursue her/his research interests.


Required qualifications

  • Master’s degree or an equivalent degree in computer science or related fields
  • Knowledge or interest in one or more of the following: visualization, human-computer interaction, computer graphics
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good skills in programming (preferably d3, Python, R, C++ & OpenGL, or similar)
  • Good knowledge of English in speaking and writing

Desired qualifications and skills

  • Knowledge in information visualization and / or human-computer interaction
  • Basic proficiency in German or willingness to learn
  • Interest in undergraduate teaching, seminar supervision, etc.
  • Prior involvement in research projects is advantageous

PreDoc University Assistant: Entry level salary as a predoctoral university assistant is currently 2096,00 EUR/month gross (30h/week contract), 14 times/year.

Duration: 3 years
