Speaker Biography

Jim Gettys, who received his BS in earth and planetary sciences from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is a member of the research staff at Digital Equipment Corporation's Cambridge Research Laboratory. With Robert W. Scheifler of MIT, he is one of the original designers of the X Window System (a trademark of MIT).
