Multicolored Knitwear

Simulation of multicolored knitwear has been done with two approaches. One approach simulates knitting patterns which consist of yarns with different colors. Images of a basic element and a knitting pattern illustrate this technique. In this case a specific yarn is made up of fibers with the same color.

Multicolore knitwear can also be simulated by modeling yarns which consist of differently colored subyarns or fibers. These type of effect yarns are called mouline yarns.
