The visualization group at TU Wien has an open position for a working student (Werkstudent). This position will be financed by the Smile Analytics project, aiming at improving the digital fabrication of dental prosthetic devices. The candidate will be working with a team consisting of academic researchers and industrial partners. The candidate should investigate aesthetic aspects of “smiling” and should derive suitable visualization techniques for previewing dental treatment outcomes at an early stage. During the course of this work, several algorithms should be implemented that quantify and classify several characteristics of a patient’s smile. The position is limited to 6 months (10 h/week). The task is well defined and feasible within the employment duration. Additionally, this position can be combined with a master thesis. In this case, the candidate will have to provide an additional input than a typical master thesis requires.
