Description

The Biomedical Image Informatics Group at the VRVis research center (VRVis Forschungs-GmbH) in Vienna, Austria, is looking for your support!

We tackle biomedical image informatics challenges in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere by (pre-)processing, analyzing and visualizing large amounts of image data from medicine and biotechnology.

Currently, we are looking for support from a student (f/m) who wants to give her/his diploma or master thesis an application driven focus with the following topic:

Multe-modality co-registration of combined PET/MR imaging data
One of our projects in cooperation with Medical University Vienna deals with the evaluation of longitudinal PET/MR imaging data. The objective of this master thesis is to provide medical experts with an accuracy map of the alignment of longitudinal PET/MR image volumes that are acquired over the course of an oncology patient management before and after therapies (e.g. breast or prostate cancer, or lymphoma). The main task is to visualize the level of accuracy of the alignment across scans for a given point or lesion. This involves co-registration of hybrid images across time points and the generation of accuracy maps as well as the implementation of fusion layers to visualize hybrid images and accuracies of spatial co-registration atop.

Please find the full description in German and English in the attached pdf.
