Procedural Modelling in Computer Graphics allows automatic generation of potentially arbitrary content for 3D world. Procedural methods have been demonstrated to generate landscape, traffic networks, buildings, vegetation. In the context of city generation a number of these methods have been combined in a single software solution which have been successfully used in commercial environment.

At the present moment no known methods have been described that target generation of parks and green spaces in a city. Typically a park or a park layout is either created manually or a system that also generates buildings is employed. In both cases a change to the design or to the surrounding regions could result in considerable modifications required of the user.

We propose a grammar-based park generation system. The process is divided into layout generation and the placement of objects within a such, the focus being on the former. It should be possible to supply an arbitrary polygon as an axiom as well as to pass design-altering attributes. The output shall not be limited to the layout also attributes for other procedural methods should be included, for instance those modifying placed vegetation. The commonly observed park features including presence of the symmetry and curved regions will be addressed.
