Speaker: Sebastian Sippl (ICGA)

Several techniques to generate patterns by Kurt Hofstetter’s Inductive Rotation-method will be implemented and analyzed in this master thesis. For this purpose, a new method, based on substitution techniques, will be developed. Furthermore, this thesis will explore the feasibility to implement different existing methods to create these patterns using compute shaders on the GPU. In addition, several improvements to the existing methods to enhance the artist’s work process will also be implemented. These improvements include a drawing tool that allows highlighting specific areas within the tilings to support visual analysis. These new approaches and improvements will be developed in close collaboration with the artist.
