Mesh simplification is a common technique used in Computer Graphics to increase performance by reducing the polygon count for meshes that are farther away from the camera. Most simplification techniques use edge or triangle collapses to minimize the mesh in an iterative procedure. The goal of this thesis is to apply advancing-front to generate a simplified mesh on top of the original mesh, without iterations and a guaranteed deviation. This lets the artist enter a percentage deviation parameter and the program returns an optimized simplified mesh.
