Dataset Datasets can be loaded using the button "Load Dataset". They can be found on the website of the Visualization LU. Transferfunction There is the possibility to load and save transferfunctions. With a right click on the transferfunction new controlpoints can be added, deleted or the color of the selected controlpoint can be changed.
View With a right mouse click in the main window the view can be changed between 3D and 2D mode. In 2D mode each plane (side, front, top) can be displayed separate on the screen. In 3D mode a 3D Slice can be activated to see inside the volume. Samplerate & Noise Use the samplerate input field to adjust the samplerate. The noise checkbox alters the ray startingpositions slightly to get rid of some artefacts. Gradients Activate the Sobel gradients to get smoother surfaces. When the checkbox is not activated central differences are used to calculate the gradients. Compare the result to see the improvement of sobel gradients. Bounding Volume The bounding volume can be displayed to see it's adaption to the volume and the transferfunction. Performance can be compared by altering between the adaptive bounding volume and the common bounding cube. Lighting The lightposition can be changed by dragging the sphere with the mouse. Different lightingmodels can be choosen: the phong model, deep shadowmaps or a combination of both. Deep shadowmap settings The deep shadowmaps can be displayed. The DSM samplerate as well as the errorvalue epsilon for the linear approximation can be changed. Also the bias for the shadowmap depth comparison can be adjusted. |
