Computeranimation

Hot News

As most of the course is given by invited lecturers, the Computer Animation lectures are held online!

Please enroll through TISS and follow the TUWEL page for up-to-date news!

If you have any further questions, please contact Renata Raidou (rraidou@cg.tuwien.ac.at).

Organization

Computeranimation VU consists of lectures (with quizzes), exercises, and a small project.

  • The lectures are spread over the semester and will take place on zoom (links to the online classes can be accessed through the TUWEL page). The lectures are frontal presentations describing computer animation concepts, loosely following the computer animation textbook Computer Animation (Third Edition) by Rick Parent.

  • There is no exam at the end of the semester, but at the beginning of each lecture (except for the first, introductory lecture) there is a small quiz testing the content of the previous lecture. The quizzes account for 36% of your grade.

  • The exercises are implementations of computer animation techniques (incl. hierarchical modeling, object manipulation, and particle animation). The exercises account for 30% of your grade.

  • In the small project, you will apply the techniques that you learned in the course to design your own short animation storyboard. The small project (incl. presentation) accounts for 34% of your grade.

All details about the course components will be available on TUWEL.

All components are mandatory (e.g., you cannot skip the project, even if you got a passing grade from the quizzes and exercises!)
