Here are the instructions to prepare the Posters Fast-Forward

For the Fast-Forward Posters Preview on Sunday, September 3rd, you'll have 60 seconds to give a short preview of your poster. Include whatever you want, just make sure it fits on 2 slides, comes in under 60 seconds and runs on PowerPoint 2003 under Windows XP. We'll be compiling all the slides into a complete presentation with strictly enforced timings.

Fast-Forward details:

The session will be held on Sunday, September 3, from 17:35-18:15
The full program is available here

The slides are due on Sunday, August 20th
Please download and use the Fast-Forward slide templates (for PC only).

Formatting

The format of the slides has been taken from the template slides off of the SCA web site. Please avoid changing the font and text sizes. The layout of the slide can be changed to suit your needs. You do not need to provide a title slide. We will be inserting slides with the paper title, authors, and institution.

Timing

The default timing for the slides is an automatic transition after 30 seconds. If you would like a different timing on your slides, then please change the transition times on the slides, but do not exceed the allotted 60 seconds. Slide presentations that go over time will have their timing reduced. All slides will have automatic timing turned on, so please be mindful of the precise timing of your presentation.

Movies and Media

Please make sure you include any external media files with your slides.

The presentation will run on a Windows XP machine with DivX Version 5 and Media Player 10 codecs installed. If adhering to the standard Windows XP codecs, your videos should run as they are. QuickTime or any other external viewers are FORBIDDEN in fast-forward session.

If your video requires alternative codecs, we can not guarantee that it is going to work. However, if an alternative format can not be avoided, please provide a Readme.txt with information about the required codec, so we can try to include it into the presentation.

Please test your movies in PowerPoint XP before submitting them. Movies should reside in the same directory as the PointPoint file. Any movies that do not play will either be removed or replaced with a screenshot. Movies and other multimedia slide components that go over the allotted time will be removed and replaced with a screen shot. Please trim and media files down to match the timing of your slides. If you're having trouble encoding your videos we recommend using VirtualDub: http://www.virtualdub.org/

Note: Make sure you are using all original material or you have permission to use whatever media you are including.
