What is this guy doing here?

In the second section of my studies (since 1994) I specialized on computer graphics:
Therefore I joined the research group at the Institute of Computer Graphics where I have developed a 3D-stereographic image generator and a raytracer for the BaBeL graphics library.

If you were wondering why you could not see me there in summer-semester 1996:

For this semester I left Vienna in order to study as an ERASMUS student at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne / Great Britain. I studied Computing Science in the 3^rd (final!) year there.
Yes - you are right, Informatics just takes 3 years (i.e. 6 semesters) there on the Island of mad cow disease!
However I spent one of my best semesters up there in Newcastle. You HAVE TO go there yourself to find out why!

From October 1997 till May 1998 I had to do my military service in the infamous Austrian army.
Luckily they sent me to the Stiftskaserne, where I was basically doing a SW-developer's job. [actually I was doing *nothing* most of the time, but don't tell anyone ...]     :-)

From December 1998 to Jannuary 2001 I was working as a SW-consultant for ServoData, which was absorbed by the CSC corporation in 2000, and now runs under the name CSC-Austria.

Afterwards I turned back to my roots in computer graphics and joined the company Imagination, which is in fact a spin-off from the Institute of Computer Graphics, where I worked as a student.
