4.2. ScaleLines

This module can scale the x-, y-, and/or z-values of all lines, that are given as "polylines" in AVS. Of course, one must not forget, that the pictures, which are generated by using this tool, are different from the original visualizations and are therefore only for the purpose of better understanding a systems behavior, but not correct.

In the following two pictures the dynamical system for the Dynastic Cycle, a population model, is visualized using a colored Streamline for showing the speed of the evolution along the streamline. The first figure shows the original visualiztion, that one will get by simply integrating the system. In the second figure, system has been scalled along one axis, so that the temporal evolution and the behavior is more clearly visible. Of course, this leads to the fact, that it seems, as if this scaled direction has now more importance, than it has in reality, so always don't forget, what you did to your visualiztion.
