This tool provides the mapping of attributes to colors for the colored streamlines (and the Rake). There exist different attributes, that can be mapped, these are the timestamp of the given step of the streamline, the velocity or the acceleration of the given step. There exist also different mapping techniques for mappings from attributes to colortable entries, these include identical, logarithmic and exponential mapping.
In the following two pictures a colored streamline for the same system is shown, with two different Color Mappings. In the first picture the speed of the trajectory is encoded in the color, high speed gives red color, low speed gives blue color. In the second picture the time of the calculated streamline is encoded in the color, oldest parts (early time) are marked blue, newest parts (late time) are shown in red color. Notice the direct correlation between the two pictures, both show, where most of the time of the integration is spend (in the straight line).
