Eye-tracking experiment with an action computer game

Description:

Motivated by promising results in a preliminary study, we need to conduct a new experiment to further validate an interesting hypothesis (which will be explained to interested candidates).
The work which has to be done is: to prepare the experimental setup for eye-tracking and make some modification in the existing game, do some pilot testing of the technical setup, and organizational work and assistance during the main study. Diplomands will be also involved in the data analysis part.

Previous knowledge:

Mandatory: Basic knowledge in computer graphics, C++, Statistics
Basic understanding of game engines and modeling tools such as 3DMax or Maya + a sense for artistic work
Interests in experimental work, eye-tracking and cognitive psychology, particularly Visual Attention
Open mindedness for interdisciplinary and scientific thinking
Useful : good social and organizational skills (e.g. for recruiting participants and running the experiments), interest in and knowledge about User Studies and HCI, good English language skills

Tools:

Software: Torque Game Engine, 3D Studio Max, ClearView, eventually our custom eye-tracking controller API, Windows environment

Hardware: Tobii Eyetracker
